Walking past models of the historic volcano landscape of the Gleichenberg Basin and down to the rather oppressive scene of the “historic cistern“ where, lying underneath the spring level, the waters from the “Johannisbrunnen“ were bottled for the Austrian high nobility between 1834 and 1965, the visitor then moves on through the exhibition to the original filling station of the 1970s still in its former place. Further on on the tour, the well can be seen and: did you know that the waters have a fragrance to them?
The fact that the exhibition is virtually set right in the middle of a place that is still actively exploited and where spa and mineral water is gained makes it possible for the visitor to experience and reflect upon the past as well as the present.
