Johann Kurzweil developed a passion for photography just after leaving school, and later on, when his first daughter was born in 1976, the time seemed appropriate to change over to “moving pictures”. His profession means that he spends a lot of his time in Asia, but meanwhile he has made his passion his second profession (“Grafik Kurzweil – Grafik, Fotografie und Druck”). Additionally, he collects cameras, film cameras and other things, and since 2009 he has made these objects accessible to the public in his “analog & digital” museum. The oldest cameras of the collection date from 1890, and the oldest film camera, a Bell & Howell, originates from 1930. During the (obligatory) tour of the collection, Johann Kurzweil talks about his life and about the history and development of photography, presents his cameras and film cameras to the visitors, and shows projectors and office machines. |
